Life often throws things our way that we don't expect, we've all been affected at some point by tragedy and we feel it's really important to give back. Over the years we have used MoreTone Fitness as a platform to give to local charities and charities close to our hearts. Here's what we're currently doing.

Hull NICU
We will forever be thankful to the team of nurses, doctors, surgeons and all the other team members at the NICU in Hull. We spent four and a half months on the unit with our boys as they were born at 25 weeks, and the team saved our twin’s lives multiple times. They supported us through some of the hardest days of our lives, they’d always be there for us as well as our sons. We were lucky enough to take our boys home and 5 years later still be able to enjoy every day with them, but there were a lot of family’s not as fortunate as us while we were there. And that doesn’t stop, every day, a new child and family come in to the unit and every day the amazing staff give care and love to the people they look after.
Life gets tough at times and having people like them on your side makes it slightly easier to get through.
Hadrian's wall is a 84 mile long ancient wall built by the roman emperor Publius Aelius Hadrianus, also known as Hadrian. This trek is normally done over 6-8 days, we thought we'd make it a real achievement and did it in 3. We started in Wallsend on Friday morning, ending in Bowness-on-Solway Sunday evening, covering a total of 88.09 miles in 33 hours and 54 minutes. Three of us completed this full challenge and other members of the MoreTone Fitness community came to join us for some sections of it, all in the name of raising money for Hull NICU.
Our second challenge to get us closer to the £5,000 target was a 24 hour workout. 3 of us took on the full 24 hours, with other members of the MoreTone Fitness community popping in to do stints of 1-7 hours. For the full 24 hours we did some form of exercise from weight lifting, cycling, yoga and boxing we kept going throughout. A tough challenge to do but a very worthwhile one which I dare to say was quite fun!
In 2025 we will take on another challenge to continue our fundraising for Hull, our pot currently stands at £3556.50 so not too much further to go. Look out for our next challenge, which is still in the planning process, and if you'd like to get involved then please do get in touch!
